New year, new goals and time to think about what we all want to accomplish this year. And think about what didn’t get done.
For me, I didn’t reach Pro status at RWA. I wanted to. I did enter four contests with Unraveling and got some incredible feedback. I think I’m starting the year closer to my end goal of being a better writer. But I couldn’t bring myself to send the manuscript to a publisher/agent.
I’m starting the year off writing. First, I’m signed up for Kelly L. Stone’s 90 day Writing Challenge on facebook. If you’ve not heard of Kelly, she has written three books on writing and creativity. I highly recommend them. You can find more information about Kelly and her books here.
I’m also taking a class on setting goals for what I want to accomplish. I’m great at setting goals, I have issues following through. This class was highly recommended to me by Carole at CRW. She takes it every year. I was ready to sign up with I saw what a huge difference it made in her goals and what she accomplished in 2010.
So my goal this year? Start the year out writing and finish in Pro status. This year I plan to push the kid out of the house and send it to someone. I am going to take a chance and put myself out there. My motto this year: I’ve yet to reach my maximum saturation point for rejection!
Have a great new year.
